Further information:
What to do in the areaThose interested in photography will find many picturesque subjects, while sketchers will be absorbed by the views, the sea and the every-changing burn. Those wishing more active pursuits may fish for trout in the burn (rod and tackle provided). Stalking in the hills behind the house can be arranged with local stalker Winston Churchill. There is also a tennis court behind the house, and a huge variety of walks are available, both at the front door, to the sea, and a short drive away. |
LocationThe house is reached by a mile-long road through the fields from the road, the B8000, on of Scotland's famous 'single track roads with passing places'. The local village, Tighnabruaich (photograph right), offers good local food shopping and good meals out. The area is rich in Neolithic remains and ancient earthworks. The nine-hole golf course at Kames offers plenty of challenges and the well-known Tighnabruaich Sailing School is based in the village. |
