Southall School House
Great cottage for a family holiday by the sea
on Argyll's Secret Coast
Sleeping 5 +1.
The cottage was originally built as the school teacher's house and is in a nicely elevated position on the eastern shore of the Kyles of Bute - giving fantasic views of this stretch of water and across to the Isle of Bute. It is a short walk (one mile) from Colintraive and award-winning pub and hotel, and shop (open in the mornings only).
There's a public slipway 50 metres from the cottage for launching boats and sea kayaks. The cottage has a useful covered area for storing kayaks and bikes. The driveway has parking for 3 cars.
The Kyles are popular for kayaking and yachting and the waters are often filled with white sails billowing in the wind. Cowal is a quiet, peaceful area with spectacular scenery, beautiful flora and fauna, a fascinating history to explore and a flourishing local art scene: Cowal Open Studios. Outdoor actvities include fishing, sailing, walking, golf, cycling and birdwatching. Day trips can include the Isle of Bute, Inverary and Tarbert, a pretty fishing village via the Portavadie Marina and excellent restaurant.
