The Abbey St Bathans Estate is a large private country Estate serenely tucked away between The Lammermuir Hills and the Berwickshire Coast some 20 miles north of Berwick-on-Tweed, and 4 miles from the A1 road at Grantshouse.

Scenically like a little bit of The Highlands in The Lowlands there are glens with native woodlands laced with quiet footpaths which tenants can wander at will, and the River Whiteadder offers private salmon and trout fishing (permits available) as it meanders past the holiday-houses or rushes through the glen. There is also a pond in the immediate vicinity - very picturesque, but some care may be required with young children.

There is horse-riding, bird-watching and scuba-diving at famous St Abb's Head, golf on many courses; an Adventure Driving School and a fine sandy beach at Coldingham Bay nearby - plus an excellent small restaurant for both snacks and meals.

Edinburgh is just over one hour's drive, and with all of the Scottish Border Country, plus Northumberland's National Park, Coast and castles within easy radius, there is almost too great a choice of places to visit!

Accommodation (sleeps 4):

Abbey Cottage has recently been completely redesigned within its old stone walls, newly fitted and fastidiously furnished. It is an elegant home affording maximum comfort and a charming ambience, and it faces across a courtyard to the grassy banks of the River Whiteadder and the trees beyond - semi-detached (at right-angles) from a stone building which just houses its tumble-drier and some Estate trappings.

Heating is by oil-fired central heating (included) and electricity (included). Bed-linen and towels are included. Pets are welcome.

Spacious Kitchen/Dining room with microwave with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing-machine, etc. Tumble-drier in adjoining barn.
