Adielin Cottage
Glen Clova
Near Kirriemuir

Sleeping 4

There is a charming old story that when God was making the earth, He was so pleased with what He created that, before He sent it spinning off into space, He gave it a last loving pat. The four finger marks of that heavenly handprint are what formed the four Angus glens, Isla, Prosen, Esk and Clova. And when you visit these lovely and unspoiled valleys today, you can easily believe that you have discovered a little bit of heaven.

On the east side of Glen Clova, nestling against a stand of trees and with wonderful open views across, down and up the glen, is Adielin Cottage, a delightful, traditional, detached cottage which has just been carefully restored as a comfortable holiday cottage for four people. Surrounded by its own grass garden (furniture), on the quiet, single track road that trundles up to the top of the glen to turn and come back down the other side, it is a peaceful and lovely setting, where children can play in safety and adults can relax and unwind.

Setting of Adielin Cottage

You can walk out straight from the door into the hills, fish in the South Esk river or two nearby trout lochs and the estate can also arrange stalking in season. There is a good golf course at Kirriemuir (shops, hotels, restaurants) just ten minutes down the road, which is also the birthplace of J M Barrie, creator of Peter Pan. Dundee (all facilities, leisure centres etc.), where you can visit Captain Scott's vessel Discovery, is only 40 minutes away. There is a superb beach at Lunan Bay (34m), or you can cross the Tay Bridge at Dundee and head for St Andrews and the other attractions of Fife. In the other direction, you can follow nearby Glen Isla up to the ski-ing area at Glenshee and onwards to Braemar (50m) for some serious walking and/or the beauties of Royal Deeside. The late Queen Mother's family home at Glamis is close by. Highland Perthshire, Pitlochry, Killiekrankie, Blair Atholl and even onwards up to Inverness - all are perfectly accessible from Adielin Cottage.

Heating is by oil central heating (first £20 included!included) and open fire. Bed linen and towels are included!included. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. Water is from a private source and bottled water is supplied for drinking.
