View of Dallens Cottage, Portnacroish, Appin, Scotland Those who like to book the best seats in the house (and who doesn't?) will just love Dallens Cottage. This cosy and beautifully refurbished holiday home has a unique position right on the shore of Loch Laich, a branch of Loch Linnhe, on Scotland's spectacular west coast, with what must be arguably the best view in the entire area of that most romantic Scottish landmark, Castle Stalker, well known from a million calendars.

Castle Stalker Peacefully situated at the end of a track, Dallens Cottage stands in almost half an acre of its own walled and hedged garden, with secure storage for cycles in the garage and ample parking for several vehicles.

With large picture windows and an extensive decking area to the front (furniture), you are perfectly positioned to watch the constantly changing seascape before you, (the idyll often enhanced by the sight of the horses from the nearby riding school cantering across the beach at low tide), and to enjoy, in particular, the wonderful colours of the legendary west coast sunsets, as the sun sinks in splendour behind the island of Lismore.

Well equipped and furnished, with an oil-fired Aga in the kitchen (there is also a gas hob and electric oven for non-Aga hands) and a wood- burning stove in the sitting room to keep it warm at all seasons, this spacious, four-bedroom (one en-suite) cottage is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy all the surroundings have to offer.

Dallens Cottage Here you are in the centre of the lovely district of Appin, immortalised in R L Stevenson's Kidnapped. You are also just over 3 miles from the world renowned Aird's Hotel and the Pierhouse Restaurant at Port Appin (PO/shop), where you can also catch the little ferry which plies across to Lismore island.

Within walking distance up the hill, the Stalker View visitor centre has a coffee shop serving excellent light meals. The above-mentioned riding stables are less than a mile away. There is golf and more shops and hotels 15 miles away at Ballachulish, which also opens the way to Glencoe, with its walking, climbing and skiing potential. To the south, there is a beautiful safe beach at Ardmucknish Bay (14m) on the way to Oban, (22m, all facilites and ferry connections to Mull, Staffa, Iona etc). Fort William (all facilities, boat trips, dry ski slope, leisure centre and, of course, Ben Nevis) is 24 miles to the north. At Dallens Cottage you really are at the centre of so much of the best that Scotland has to offer.

Oil-fired central heating, electricity and bed linen are included!included. Towels may be hired. Sorry, no pets and no smoking in the house. There is a telephone for incoming calls. A refundable householder's deposit will be required.
