Easter Cottage,
Swinton,
Berwick-
shire
Sleeps 2
On a back road, almost halfway between the small country town of Kelso in The Scottish Borders and Berwick-on-Tweed on the Northumbrian coast, Easter Cottage faces the village green in the centre of the tiny village of Swinton which, very conveniently, boasts one of the best restaurants in the area - highly regarded for both its food and its ale.
The traditional stone cottage, dating back to about 1800, has been freshly decorated to a high standard in a simple, cosy decor that fits the style of the house, and the kitchen has been completely modernised with new fitted units, etc. It has a log-fire in the sitting-room; a lovely private garden at the rear; pretty window-boxes; a patio with barbecue and garden furniture; and parking for your car right at the door - an ideal cottage for a couple who like either to be private, or to meet the locals and not be too isolated.
It has immediate access to all of the Scottish Border Country and Northumbria as well as the east coast between Edinburgh and Newcastle, and offers limitless sightseeing and sporting opportunities within this lovely area.
Heating is by log-fire (logs
included), and electric central-heating. Bed-linen and towels are
included. No smoking allowed within the cottage. Pets are welcome.
