Glendale Cottage,
Skye
Sleeps 3
Glendale Cottage, a good-value cottage on Skye, is at Portnalong - about 22 miles north-west of Broadford on the south side of Loch Harport, looking across to the mountains called 'MacLeod Tables'.
Here, you are just about in the centre of the island so that you can visit all the different peninsulas of Skye very easily, yet, if you do not want to move far afield, you are in an attractive crofting area which has pleasant moorland and coastal walks; a small sandy beach at Fiscavaig 1.5 miles; watersports, fishing, and a slipway for launching boats onto Loch Harport a half-mile away; and the access road for The Cuillins and Glen Brittle just nearby.
The cottage is compact and simply but comfortably furnished, and is a very pleasant and tranquil spot for a relaxing holiday. There is a popular pub and restaurant on the road along the loch at Carbost, where you can also visit the distillery of Skye's famous 'Talisker' malt whisky.
Heating is by electricity (£5
