Kilninver on the famous West Coast of Scotland some 8 miles south of Oban is a fine country estate boasting three much sought-after traditional stone holiday houses which enjoy marvellous views over Loch Feochan (sea-loch) to the Islands of Kerrera and Mull. This estate embraces some 2,500 acres of open hill country and woodlands (lovely walks, Spring flowers, wildlife); the River Euchar (salmon-fishing chargeable) and two inland lochs (fun trout-fishing 
included throughout the fishing season); some spectacular coast with a great variety of birds.
The small Island of Seil approached via the 'Bridge across the Atlantic' is just four miles down the road, and from nearby Oban (shops, restaurants, hotels 18 - hole golf, swimming-pool) you can enjoy sea- fishing or boat trips to the Islands of Mull, Staffa, Iona, Lismore, etc.
Each house is individually and stunningly situated in this area of great natural beauty - well off the road, with surrounding countryside where children can play.The Old Manse and Old Kirk also have an indoor playroom housing table-tennis.
Heating is by wood-burning stove, electric-radiators and night-store heaters (electricity and logs included). Bed-linen and towels are included. Pets are welcome under strict control.
Kilninver Fishing
Kilninver can offer salmon and sea-trout fishing on the River Euchar and Lochs Charn, Seil and Feochan. See the paragraph on Fishing further down this page.

The Old Manse (sleeps 3/4)
The Old Manse has a magnificent site above the estuary of the River Euchar with superb views over fields to the sea and towards the Islands of Mull and Kerrera. A short car-track guides your car right up to the cottage - which has a small secured gravelled-courtyard at the rear as well as open countryside around.

The Old Kirk (sleeps 6/8)
The Old Kirk stands on a rocky knoll with lovely views across Loch Feochan to the hills beyond. The stone walls and much of the original pine-panelling of this 18th century church have been incorporated into the house, but the outstanding views can be enjoyed from ordinary clear-glass windows.

Dairy Cottage (sleeps 2)
Dairy Cottage is a typical, traditional, picture-book Highland Cottage, though it is doubtful if the estate tenants who used to live there in bygone days would recognise its interior now, so well has it been renovated and refurbished.
Providing comfortable and cosy accommodation with an open aspect across the quiet access road and a field to the head of the loch, it is an ideal hideaway for honeymooners or those who are simply looking for a tranquil retreat in an idyllic setting.

Dairy Cottage:
Alpein Cottage (sleeps 4)
Alpein Cottage is an attractive whitewashed cottage which has been carefully restored and refurbished to provide cosy and comfortable accommodation. It stands quite alone just a small field's distance from the lochside, and with the most beautiful views across the loch to the mountains beyond. Look out for some splendid sunsets!
Alpein Cottage is a perfect base from which to explore the many attractions of this beautiful area. The small island of Seil, with the picturesque little village of Easdale, approached by the 'Bridge over the Atlantic', is just four miles away. In addition to shops, hotels, restaurants etc. Oban has a golf course, swimming pool, cinema, sandy beach at Ganavan, Sea Life Centre at Barcaldine (20m) and Rare Breeds Park. From there too, there are also regular excursions by boat to the islands of Mull, Staffa, Iona, Lismore etc. Just north of Oban at Benderloch, there is a superb beach at Tralee Bay (16m). Continuing north towards Fort William, by Appin and Duror, the coastal road just gets lovelier and lovelier. Another worthwhile excursion, perhaps part of a round trip around Loch Awe, would take in the Hydro Electric Scheme at Cruachan, where visitors can go right into the heart of the mountain to see the underground Power Station.
In the other direction, there are the famous Arduaine Gardens (11m) and Lochgilphead (29m). It is possible to wile away a very pleasant afternoon watching vessels negotiate the nearby Crinan Canal, which runs from Ardrishaig, just south of Lochgilphead, to Crinan and which allows sea going vessels to take a short cut from the Firth of Clyde and Loch Fyne to the Atlantic.
The cottage has an open fire in the sitting room and there is additional heating by electric radiators and night storage heaters (electricity and logs included). Bed-linen and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.

Kilninver can offer salmon and sea-trout fishing on the River Euchar and Lochs Charn, Seil and Feochan.
The River Euchar
Enjoy superb fishing on some 3km of the River Euchar. The beat includes a mix of single and double bank fishing covering some 28 named pools from Upper Trinity to the White Stone pool at the estuary. The Euchar is very much a spate river with the first runs of fish starting in early summer with the main runs occurring in August through to October.
The Euchar beat can be booked by the week for two rods in conjunction with one of the cottages or on a daily basis for visitors.
Lochs Charn, Seil and Feochan
Lochs Charn and Seil offer fishing for wild brown trout. Loch Feochan offers opportunities for sea anglers with pollack and mackerel the most common catches.
Loch fishing is free to holiday tenants and is also available to visitors on a day ticket basis.
