Loch Awe View
Situated in the scenic West coast of Scotland approximately 10 miles from Dalmally and 13 miles from Inveraray, this delightful timber lodge in Portsonachan offers a most comfortable holiday home with stunning views across the beautiful Loch Awe from its elevated hillside position within the grounds of Sonachan House.
Finished to a high standard, the lodge features French doors to a covered veranda with outdoor furniture as well as a hot tub available for hire. Inside, there is a bright and spacious open-plan living/dining area with well equipped fitted kitchen, two bedrooms and a stylish bathroom with shower over the bath.
A tranquil retreat for relaxing, the Portsonachan Hotel is within walking distance and offers modern Scottish cuisine prepared from locally produced ingredients. Loch Awe provides a variety of walks as well as being popular for trout and salmon fishing (boats and permits available locally). The abundant local wildlife includes deer, pine martens, otters and red squirrels as well as regular viewings of golden eagles, ospreys and sea eagles nearby. For the more energetic, there are many other activities available in the area including golf, horse riding and cycling.
An excellent base for exploring the Argyll and West Highlands, there are many forests, mountains and lochs to be enjoyed as well as the popular tourist destinations of Inveraray and Fort William with their gardens, castles and distilleries or Oban from where you can take a ferry to explore Mull, Islay and many more islands.
