Plantation Foot is a traditional Scottish stone cottage which has recently been completely renovated and furnished to make a very comfortable holiday house indeed. In the hamlet of Newton Wamphray, near the River Annan known for its salmon, trout and seatrout (fishing permits can be obtained), it is midway (about 7 miles) between Lockerbie and Moffat, some 20 miles from Dumfries, and easily accessible from the M6 and the M74 (1 mile). This is a beautifully kept excellently equipped house whose interior would astound its olden-day tenants who used to work the forestry plantations to the north.
It stands detached. in its own pretty garden (furniture, barbecue) and orchard. just an easy walk from a pub/hotel, with only one or two neighbours near, and has superb countryside roundabout - the Lowther Hills, the Forests of Ae and Castle O'er, Eskdalemuir, St Mary's Loch, as well as the Solway coastline - all a paradise for walkers, bird-watchers, fishermen, and plain idle tourists!
Heating is by open-fire (coal
included), and electricity. Bed-linen and towels can be hired by overseas guests. Pets are welcome. There is a telephone for incoming calls.

- Kitchen with microwave oven, electric-cooker, dishwasher, fridge, and washing machine, etc.
- Bathroom with bath and shower (separate WC and basin).
- Double Bedroom.
- Double Bedroom plus Single bed.
