Rinour Cottage
near Grantown on Spey
Highlands of Scotland

Sleeping 4

Whisky lovers will think they've died and gone to heaven at Rinour Cottage! Situated right in the centre of beautiful Speyside, 14 miles from Grantown on Spey, it is ringed by distilleries, among them the famous Glenlivet. The cottage stands quite alone - the nearest buildings are some disused steadings - in an acre of grass garden (patio, furniture) with sweeping views to the front. It is accessed by 200 yards of track from a minor road, so is private and secluded.

View

Inside, the owners have equipped and furnished it to a most comfortable standard. Oil central heating with an Aga in the kitchen, and a wood-burning stove in the sitting room ensure that the whole house is warm and cosy. There is excellent walking along the Speyside Way (which is close to the cottage) and towards Glenlivet, and hill walking on Ben Rinnes. The Moray Coast is very accessible with a fabulous stretch of sands at Findhorn. Ballindalloch Castle is within 5 minutes, and there are a number of other castles in the area which are well worth a visit. The Lecht Ski area is only 25 miles away, and of course, the Findhorn and Spey rivers offer wonderful fishing facilities. For major shopping, or a rainy day, you can be in Inverness in 50 minutes. However there is no need to go so far for your day-to-day requirements, since Aberlour (10m) - Charlestown of Aberlour to the uninitiated - has some excellent shops, including the Speyside Larder deli. The hotels in Archiestown and Craigellachie and the pub in Aberlour do good meals.

Heating by oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included!included in the rental. Sorry, no pets and smoking is not permitted in the cottage.
