Edinburgh City Apartment: Greyfriars

This cosy apartment is on the 2nd (US 3rd) floor of what was once Edinburgh Charity Poorhouse, built in 1739-1743, and now converted into flats. It is incredibly quiet (the rooms are away from the road and look over the tranquil lawns and trees of Greyfriars churchyard). It's very central and just a minute's walk from one of the liveliest parts of Edinburgh, the Grassmarket (shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants). From there it's a short walk up Victoria Street (Mellis's artisan cheese shop and other good shops) to the Royal Mile. It's also very close to the Museum of Scotland and Edinburgh University. The apartment has one bedroom, a living room (with sofa bed) kitchen and shower-room, and sleeps 1 to 3 comfortably. | |
