Number 21 (the open white front door near the middle of the photograph, right) is the home of a branch of the Macpherson Chieftains, Macpherson of Glentruim. Zandra Macpherson's house is full of Scottish history: family portraits in the dining room, interesting pictures and antiques, including a pair of 18th century cannons at the front door. Zandra is an author of Scottish books - People of the Wild Cat Country: Tales from Badenoch and Strathspey, 2006, A Strange and Wild Place, 2004, as well as cookery books (see below).
Two bedroom suites are reserved for guests, and Zandra warmly welcomes visitors to Edinburgh to stay for bed and breakfast.
Here, in the midst of some of the finest 18th and 19th century classical architecture in the world, almost everything Edinburgh has to offer is within walking distance. Princes Street and George Street are less than 5 minutes away, and there are shops, cafés and restaurants close by.
