It is owned and run by the Miah family who have chosen decor, fabric, furniture and objects to evoke the atmosphere and romance of India. Tommy Miah founded The Raj, Edinburgh's best Indian Restaurant in Leith, well known and much liked for many years. The hotel is a substantial Victorian house between Murrayfield and Haymarket train station, about a mile or 5 minutes by bus from the west end of Princes Street (and between the centre of Edinburgh and Edinburgh airport). |

Continental breakfast is served buffet style in the dining room which has a great silver elephant throne from Jaipur. There is a choice of cereals, fruit, fruit juice, croissants, cheese, toast, tea and coffee, with spiced samosas and pakora too. |
