Self-catering rental
4 Star Country House Bed and Breakfast and rental Accommodation
at a 17th century former shooting lodge
on the Island of Mull.
Achnadrish House
between Tobermory and Dervaig,
Island of Mull
Achnadrish House is hidden in the trees in the middle of this picture. Beyond is Loch Frisa.
The West Coast of Scotland has some of the most beautiful and romantic island retreats in the world, and Mull is one of the best (certainly the most accessible; 40 minutes ferry from Oban which is 2 hours from Glasgow). Mountains rise from the sea to over 3000 feet, there are deserted sandy beaches, old woodlands and fertile sheltered valleys where tender plants thrive and waterfalls tumble among mossy rocks.
Achnadrish is at the North end of Mull, surrounded by woodland gardens, (with a waterfall) and hidden amongst trees and moorland at the head of a valley which opens out to Loch Frisa. It dates from 1695 and was once a shooting lodge for the Quinish estate. Now it is the home of Michael Story who welcomes guests to stay for bed and breakfast, and there are also two self-catering holiday cottages available for weekly rental.
The Lonely Planet Guide: "This romantic 17th century country house located 2 miles from Dervaig is run by a former marketing chieftain for an international hotel company who spoils his guests! An absolute bargain!"
