The Dunalastair Hotel
The Dunalastair Hotel at Loch Rannoch is a genuine Highland hotel with Scottish Highlands hospitality; warm, friendly and informal, with comfortable accommodation and excellent food.
Loch Rannoch seems remote, almost exactly in the middle of Scotland, yet it's easy to get to. Leave the main road between Inverness and Edinburgh, just north of Pitlochry, and drive about 18 miles through forest, following tumbling rivers and waterfalls and you arrive at this, one of Scotland's most beautiful lochs. Loch Rannoch is surrounded by mountains, moorland and ancient Caledonian pine forests which go down to the water's edge, and extends westward from the little village of Kinloch Rannoch where the Dunalastair Hotel was built some 200 years ago.
Today Dunalastair is owned and run by the Edwards family who have modernised and refurbished throughout preserving some of original character of an old Highland sporting lodge.

Within an easy drive there's Blair Castle, the Falls of Bruar and Queen's View - even the theatre in Pitlochry. Or you can make a day's outing to St Andrews or Balmoral and Royal Deeside.
