Ardoch Cottage is a comfortable restored Victorian cottage in its own walled courtyard garden (ideal for children) and just a minute's walk from the shore of Loch Kishorn. (Pebbly sea-weedy beach and sea-shore.) It is situated on a hill above the Loch close to the small village of Achintraid, and is reached by a tree-canopied drive. From the woodland around the cottage, and from the bottom of the drive (a minute's walk) are wonderful panoramic views across the sea towards Skye and the Applecross Hills. (photo, left)

Under two hours' drive from Inverness Airport, on Scotland's beautiful West Coast, and with everything you need to have a great outdoor/indoor holiday, Ardoch Cottage is a special place for friends and families, an ideal refuge for any time of the year.

Ardoch Cottage and walled area in front Kishorn Bay

All around are wonderful places to walk and remote coastline with rugged hills sweeping down to the sea. A paradise for walkers, fishermen, climbers, bird and wildlife enthusiasts. The climate is mild, even in winter.

The lochside villages of Shieldaig and Plockton, the mountains of Torridon (National Trust for Scotland) and the Isle of Skye, gardens and castles are within easy driving distance.

Kishorn Seafood Café and village shop are within walking distance in Kishorn (half-mile) and the village of Lochcarron (five miles) provides further food and basic shopping.

Alastair Baxter, the owner, has prepared this extra page of local information: What to see and do in the area, and also has another cottage sleeping 4: Gracie's Cottage.
