Surrounding Landscape

This self catering house in the West Highlands of Scotland is the old sporting lodge for Glen Shiel Forest, an estate of many thousands of acres of pristine landscape, a wild paradise of heather, myrtle, orchids, red deer and eagles. The lodge is sheltered by woodland a few hundred yards from the hamlet of Shiel Bridge off the A87 (18 miles from the Kyle of Lochalsh) and approached via the old bridge over the River Shiel. It has views of the steep-sided hills of the Five Sisters of Kintail and the Forest of Glenelg, and is well placed for access to some of the very best hillwalking in the West Highlands of Scotland. Skye, Torridon, the Glenelg Peninisula, Arnisdale, Loch Hourn, even Knoydart, are all within a days reach. |
